Generally, desiccant life should last three years -under normal operating conditions, and up to five years – if energy management system is installed. However, based on how the equipment is operated, desiccant can become saturated or degraded, leading to reduced efficiency and potential system issues. Incoming contaminants, mainly oil, will impact the desiccant‘s ability to adsorb vaporous form moisture and can cut the working life of desiccant in half.
By monitoring desiccant functionality, extended equipment life and peak performance is guaranteed, and helps prevent corrosion and wear.
